In our 30th year of distributing scholarships to Big Walnut High School seniors and graduates in 2025, we decided to gather as many profiles from previous trustees as possible.
As it’s been 30 years, this is quite an undertaking.

My wife and I raised our children in Big Walnut schools and appreciate the opportunities and support they received in this community. I believe it’s important to support all Big Walnut students, and through the BWEF have been able to both serve and to fund scholarships for BW graduates.
I support the BWEF because I love being part of the Big Walnut community and I truly value education. Two great things that go great together.
I grew up in Big Walnut schools, and my wife and I both work in the community and are raising our family here. We understand the importance of investing in our local youth, and we value the work of the Big Walnut Education Foundation.
One of my ongoing goals is to be a solid advocate for Big Walnut students. Outside of my time with the BWEF, I served as an administrator in BW schools including as Vice-Principal and Athletic Director. I’ve been happy to support BWHS students for decades.
As a counselor, one of my roles was to work with scholarships. Also, both of my daughters were awarded BWEF scholarships—so I know how the awards helped our family and like to help other families.
I raised my family here in the Big Walnut community, and my children graduated from the school district. I support the Foundation because I believe in giving back to our community. It is always good to help our children!
My wife and I graduated from Big Walnut and raised our children here. I’ve been committed to investing in our local community as an individual and through Forman Realtors all my life; I appreciate every opportunity to support BW students through the foundation.
Jim served as a founding member of the Big Walnut Education Foundation. He and his wife raised two daughters in BW schools and recognized the importance of scholarships in making college more affordable.
