55 BWHS Students Awarded Thanks to Generous Donors
The Big Walnut Education Foundation Offers $91,000 to the Class of 2018
The Big Walnut Education Foundation has been connecting local donors to Big Walnut High School students and alumni since1994, when it was founded with a $20,000 donation.
In 1995, they awarded their first $6,000 in scholarships. And they’ve continued to grow and give more and more every year since. In 2017, the Foundation awarded $82,500 to 47 Big Walnut High School students and alumni. And in 2018, they added eight additional scholarships—totaling 55 students who were together awarded $91,000. That’s $8,500 more than in 2017.
All of this is possible because of generous donors—dedicated individuals who are willing to boost Big Walnut students as they pursue their next steps.
Thanks to these donors, Big Walnut students have received over $1,600,000 since 1994. These scholarships are paid with interest, dividends, and capital gains—allowing the their principal to continue growing so that BW graduates can continue to benefit far into the future.
