The application process for Big Walnut Education Foundation scholarships is simple and direct.

 

  1. Pick up your application in the Guidance Counseling Office or print one here or from Naviance.
  2. File the FAFSA with your parents. This form is mandatory for all applications.
  3. Ask for three recommendations from teachers, counselors, employers, coaches, or other adult mentors.
  4. Complete and submit your application and all accompanying materials to the Guidance Office before 3:00pm on April 6th, 2018.

This application is targeted for students with a GPA of 3.5 and above who perform well on standardized tests and have many activities. Your GPA, SAT/ACT scores, and honors/awards make up 55% of this application.

 

Applicants for this scholarship have a GPA of 3.49 or lower. Teacher and adult recommendations, work experience, and extracurricular activities are weighted more heavily than test scores. You may not apply for the Golden Eagle Scholarship if your GPA is 3.5 or above.

 

Entering an accredited program that’s not four years? This scholarship is for you; emphasis is placed on your work experience, adult recommendations, and financial need.

 

This scholarship is for Big Walnut graduates who are enrolled in a college or university at the time of application and are seeking a scholarship for the upcoming year. Confirmed GPA and registration required; work experience and activities are also considered.

 

All categories offer one-year and multi-year awards.

Interviews will take place during the week of April 16th, 2018 for selected students.

All students will be notified of their status in writing.

Winners will be recognized at Senior Honors Night on May 7, 2018.

Scholarship monies will be mailed directly to your college or university.
